Welcome to HTML from Start, a comprehensive, self-paced, text-based learning experience designed to take you from absolute zero to a confident web architect. Hosted by Generiss Academy, this course strips away the noise and focuses on the core blueprint of the internet: HyperText Markup Language (HTML).

Through meticulously structured, reading-driven modules, clear code breakdowns, and text-based practical exercises, you will master the art of structuring web content. You will learn how to think like a browser, translate visual concepts into semantic markup, and build accessible, SEO-friendly websites from the ground up. Because this course is 100% text-based, you can skip the fluff of pausing and rewinding videos—allowing you to read, code, and absorb the material at your exact speed.

What does "self-paced, text-based" mean?
It means there are no video lectures to watch and no scheduled live classes to attend. The course consists of high-quality, deeply detailed written guides, code snippets, and interactive text assignments. You can log in and read whenever you want, progressing at your own speed.
Do I need to know CSS or JavaScript before starting?
Not at all. This course starts from absolute zero. We focus entirely on HTML, which is the structure of a webpage. Once you master this, you will be perfectly prepared to take on CSS (styling) and JavaScript (interactivity) later.
Will I get a certificate upon completion?
Yes. Once you have read through all the modules and completed the text-based review quizzes, you will receive a Generiss Academy Certificate of Completion to share on LinkedIn or your resume
What software do I need to download?
You only need a modern web browser (like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) and a free text/code editor. We recommend Visual Studio Code (VS Code), and we provide a step-by-step written guide on how to set it up in the very first chapter.
Is there any coding support if I get stuck?
Yes! Even though the course is self-paced, you aren’t alone. You will have access to the Generiss Academy text-based student forum where you can post your code, ask questions, and get help from peers and moderators.
Can I build a complete website using just HTML?
You can build a fully functioning, structured website with links, forms, tables, images, and text. However, it will look like a basic 1990s webpage. To make it modern and visually beautiful, you will want to learn CSS next, but HTML is the essential framework you must build first.
